Bessie is the Director of Partnership Development at Esquel Group, a leading knowledge-based innovation company in the fashion and apparel business. 

She has worked in the private and public sectors throughout her career history.  Since joining Esquel Group in 2008, Bessie has been responsible for driving people development initiatives at all levels, and building up the global organizational leadership pipeline to support Esquel’s long-term development and transformation. As an agile and visionary leader with a deep commitment to people, she devoted herself to nurturing a learning organization and an innovation culture by enhancing employees’ computational thinking ability and digital empowerment in recent years.

She is appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the City University of Hong Kong.  She is also a member of the Industry Training Advisory Committee – Fashion of Qualifications Framework in Hong Kong and the Higher Education Advisory Committee Member of the Vocational Training Council.  She is currently appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee on Social Work Training and Manpower Planning by the Secretary for Labour and Welfare and a Specialist of The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). She received a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from the University of Alberta (Canada), a Master of Science from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from the City University of Hong Kong.
